For Pootie/Woozle lovers -- a change of pace

Love the pooties?  Love the woozles?  But want something different?

Have some moochers!  Moochers, who'll rifle your pockets for the carrots and sugar cubes they KNOW you have somewhere about your person.  Who'll whicker softly when they see their favorite human approach.  Who'll bellow a whinny when that favorite person doesn't come right over and pay attention, dammit!

Moochers are apolitical, they don't read the blogs, and they don't care about the issues of the day, because for them the issues of the day are:  (1) Got food?  (2) I have an itch right here.  (3) Is that a cookie for me?  (4)  Ride?  You want to ride?  Well, all right.... (5) Now that I've worked, where's my carrot?

So follow me over the fold for some mental refreshment, a brief break from the life and death seriousness that so much of Daily Kos must confront every day.

Horses love grass.  That's a fact.  Millions of years of evolution have made them masters at converting forage into flesh.  Given the opportunity, they'll spend up to 20 hours a day and night converting away.

You don't want to be a blade of grass in the path of these mowing machines.

While hay and grain will sustain a horse in good health, it's the nutritional completeness of fresh grass that puts the dappled bloom of good health on a horse's coat.

Horses are herd animals and are happiest in a group.  Within the group they form strong bonds with particular buddies.

Doesn't even have to be another horse for an equine to form a strong attachment.

At the end of the day, alone or in a herd, it's the grazing that keeps them happy and healthy.

And if they can't get grass, they'll settle for hay.  Just gotta keep that mouth full!
